The Myth
Shoopiltee is a water spirit from the folklore of the Shetland Islands. It appears in the form of a beautiful little horse.
The creature attempts to entice people into mounting its back. Once a rider climbs on, the Shoopiltee suddenly gallops into the sea, carrying its victim with it.
