The Myth
The Barstuk is a small dwarf-like creature from the folk traditions of Warmia and Masuria. It is said to inhabit the forests, living away from human settlements and remaining mostly hidden from view.
Despite its secluded nature, the Barstuk is considered a helpful being. It secretly visits people’s houses and assists the inhabitants without revealing itself. Its quiet presence makes it a benevolent little spirit of the forest, helping those whose homes it chooses to visit.
